Shepherd Neame Brewery Tour, Faversham
Monday 5 December 2011
We have booked an exclusive tour on the Faversham brewery, on Monday 5 December 2011, 7pm, at the cost of £10.00 per person for the meeting, tour and tasting. Friends and family welcome. If you would like to attend, please confirm numbers to Julian Audsley (click here) as soon as possible. If you have any questions do contact Julian. If anyone wants to come who might find stairs difficult, let us know – there is another option. See below.
The outline itinerary for the evening is as follows:-
Arrive Shepherd Neame Visitor Centre – 10 Court Street, Faversham. They have a Cash Bar Open from 6.30 for early arrivals
7.00- 7.30pm Meet upstairs in our 15th Century function room
7.40pm Guided Tour of Brewery
9.00pm Tutored tasting of Shepherd Neame beers in the Visitor Centre bar
10.00pm “Last Orders” at the Bar you can leave then or stay till 10.30.
The tour itself lasts approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes and includes several of the brewery’s historic buildings. I recommend that all participants sport practical footwear. Also, please note that a small portion of the tour route is outside so we should wear appropriate clothing if the weather is inclement on the day of our visit.
There are two staircases (with handrails) on the tour route; therefore, I must advise that the tour may be difficult for infirm visitors and is not suitable for wheelchair users. We will be pleased to arrange a “virtual tour” with a guide for such visitors.

The Dover Honey Show is at Alkham Village Hall on Saturday 22nd October. In recent years, CBKA have been strong supporters of the show, both as competition entrants, and even winners. We have provided the winners of the Novice honey category in both 2009 and 2010, and therefore have a reputation to preserve.
Please support this local event, either with attendance, or better, entering your honey, wax, cakes etc. If you need some advice about showing honey, just ask one of the CBKA committee. The following link gives more information: Dover_Honey_Show
