Apiary Meeting, 5th September

Date/Time: Saturday 5th September at 1400-1600

Location: Palmsted Wood, Bekesbourne

September is traditionally the time when we put the colonies into winter configurations, although with ivy honey coming in, this may not be the final time we re-organise the boxes.  We’ll see what the late summer flow is like, and assess the health of the colonies.  Whilst we have already completed varroa treatment at Palmsted, we’ll talk about the options there, and how best to prepare bees for what is now often a very mild autumn.

DIrections for finding the apiary can be found in the recent email to all current members/friends – if you can’t find that, just drop Adrian a line at chairman@canterburybeekeepers.org.uk.
If you are a beginner, and need to borrow a beesuit, please let Adrian know ahead of the meeting.
