Apiary meeting, 7th June

Date/Time: Sunday 7th June at 1400-1600

Location: Palmsted Wood, Bekesbourne Ln, Bekesbourne, CT4 5DX

We’ve been able to generate several nuc colonies at our branch apiary on the back of the spring flows, and hopefully the swarming urge has calmed down, and we can prepare for the summer flows in late June and July. Andy King has kindly volunteered to lead this rescheduled meeting.

With that in mind, we’d like to use some of the apiary meeting to undertake some apiary organisation – throwing away old kit, organising the spare boxes, and making up some frames for supers and broodboxes.  We will so some inspections too – but hopefully these will be relatively straightforward, compared to the last meeting. We may unite a couple of smaller colonies to get a good foraging force for the summer flow.
