Bee Day at Whitefriars

On Sat 9th of June we are doing a publicity day in the centre of Whitefriars called Bee Day.  We will have an observation hive, a mock up demo hive and provide wild flower seeds and leaflets and will have honey tastings and sell honey.  The honey sold will initially be from the City centre but when that is gone we can sell members’ honey.

We need a minimum team of 12 volunteers in three shifts of 4.

  • 9.30 to 12 which includes the setting up,
  • 12 until 2
  •   2 to 4.30 which includes dismantling.

If you can help on the day please let me have the times you can do as soon as possible so I can organise a rota of duties.    The opening times for the day are from 11-4.

We are getting some tee shirts for Canterbury Beekeepers which can also be used at our other festivals at Hambrook Marshes and Brogdale.  Please let Deborah Kellond know by Wednesday, if you will be buying one.

Our June apiary day will be at our latest apiary at Westbere on the 16thJune. Details in the newsletter which will follow shortly.

I am just about to send in the jar order which will be stored at Stuart’s and David’s homes in Canterbury for collection so you have a day to let me know size shape and quantity all gold lids.
